National Vegetarian Week

I was shocked, happy and amazed when I read about national vegetarian week. Although it was from the 27th of September to the 3rd of October and yes we have missed it, it's so great to see that there is some recognition for what we as a group do. We will make it and support it next year.

Another interesting fact is how many celebrities are vegetarians and support animal rights. A few well known veggi celebs include.
Alec Baldwin
Alicia Silverstone
Drew Barrymore
Kim Basinger
Naomi Watts
Natalie Imbruglia
Pamala Anderson
Andrew G
Avril Lavigne
Boy George
Paul McCartney
PINK
Sophie Monk
Wierd Al Yankovic

This is really special to see so many celebrities showing interest in preventing animal cruelty.

Vegetarian For A Reason

Hey Kids! I'm Hannah, and I'm a vegetarian.
I started my Vegetarian diet as a trial and went from there. 2 weeks as a Vegetarian was the deal I had with my Mum, and she agreed as she was a Vegetarian at my age too. I stayed a vegetarian for 5 months until she decided I got too unhealthy, and Made me eat meat again, which all though angered me, I was very grateful for. I became a Vegetarian again the beginning of this year, On the condition that I ate fish. I have been a Vegetarian ever since, and I couldn't be happier.
Here are my tips on how to coax your parents into letting you become a Vegetarian
1~ Ask for a 2 week trial, that way its not defining it as a long term commitment, and if you decide its not for you, Its a good way to test it.
2~ Suggest Becoming a Peskitarian first, as I am, Eating Fish or chicken.
3~ Suggest the health benefits, or why you think you should be a Vegetarian (I hate the idea of killing something Innocent)

Don't be too much trouble for your parents as that will set you back, and act mature, as then they might trust you with your own diet judgements.

Why the blog?

First a little about me.

Name:
Jasmine

Email:
jasmine.king7@gmail.com

Vegetarian/Vegan:
I am bordering Vegan, but can't cross due to health reasons.

Why the blog?
I am sick of people telling me that not eating meat is making no difference. For everyone that doesn't eat meat, that's not true. Every contribution helps. The way I see it, for everyone who doesn't eat meat, that is one animal saved a week. Think about it. If you eat meat everyday, it is probably equivalent to 1 chicken, or one small pig.
This is my personal and hopefully your personal guide and protest to animal cruelty.
I want to create awareness, share information, help with guides and tips to being a vegetarian, help with transitions from vegetarian to vegan, help with interesting menu options and ideas on what to eat, and also share PETA videos, links and fun facts and vegetarian items e.g. t-shirts.

What I would like?
Your support. Follow the blog, comment email me with questions I would be absolutely happy to answer anything. Give me feedback and ideas to add to the blog. I would love you to contribute as it is not just my blog, but also yours.
Any keen writers I would be happy to have you email me with your name (first name) and how long you have been vegetarian/vegan or into saving animals. Also with a reason as to why you would like to write.

Please support me and my quest to help eliminate animal cruelty.

xx
Jaz.

P.S as you saw my email is up so you can email me. :)
cheers, have a good day.
